Sleep Deprivation (Trip?)
    #6645648 - 03/07/07 02:57 PM (17 years, 1 month ago)

It's known, apparently, that with sleep deprivation comes hallucinations...

So, anyone done it?

Are they full on visuals? Do you know they're fake? Is it like a trip?

Just really curious about it is all...and I want to hear form people who have experienced it.

That's the same problem I would have...sleep is one of my favorite things.

One of these days I want to go for it though.

I'd be careful with doing that, I know just before I went insane I stopped sleeping, and it really took things to the next level in my schizophrenia.

Enjoy your sanity, because it can go away just like that, then your stuck on meds for the rest of your life with no garentee that will make you normal.

The most I have ever been awake straight was 2 days, I felt weird and shit, but I had also been taking acid and stuff so that might have accounted for it, although after the acid clearly wore off I still felt out of it, go figure.

I stayed up for about five days once.

It's weird, the hallucinations werent quite hallucinations.

It's as if your imagination jumps out. I would picture Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, and it seemed as if he was fighting Moloch before my eyes.

i was awake 14 days once , using a shitload of amphetamine, 14 days may be fatal so i dont recommend anyone trying it. It wasnt 14 days with no sleep, i slept maybe 2 hours all together, 10 minutes now and then, or passing out for 10 minutes now and then is more correct. its not a trip, its more like paranoia , i was sure there was cops around the house. i could see them, i also could see the same car following me all the time, my neighboors car. I thought my neighboor was in the police as well, the hallucinations is very real like you are sure you see these cops sneaking around the house all the time. I also saw a pink rabbit in my side view when i was driving, it was like it was running next to the car all the time. you are completly fucked in this kind of state, im glad i dont do this drug anylonger.

I know some people never feel completely normal after acid or mushrooms until they get a good night sleep, so that's not too weird.

I've gone 3 days without sleep...2 nights worth.

No hallucinations, but I talked a hell of a lot more. I wouldn't stop talking. It was like I didn't know what I was saying as I said it.

That's terrible Lunatix....I'm hoping for the best, but considering I've already done hallicinogens I don't think lack of sleep will push me over the edge. *crosses fingers*

Mortal Kombat...*sigh* I miss that game.

Oh, okay, that makes a little more since. So it's real feeling and you're paranoid. Not really up my alley, now that I think about it. I take refuge in the knowledge that what I'm seeing is fake.

My old buddy did ROTC in college... He was in some "Ranger School" thing where they kept him awake and active for 3 straight days... He told me several stories about vivid hallucinations and strange feelings of "tripping".

He was explaining to one of his guys how to read a map for 10 minutes before noticing that his "friend" was a tree stump.

That said, messing with sleep patterns can be risky business... tread lightly.

Sleep deprivation doesn't make me paranoid, it probably only made that guy paranoid because he was taking loads of amphetamines.

hehe

yes amphetamine is the reason for the paranoia, i dont think its possible to stay up for more than 3-4 days without some CNS stimulation, you will pass out.

Couldn't you just use caffeine pills or something?

For me the 3rd day on Dexedrine is when all the shadow people start sneaking around trying to pick my pocket. The little fuckers love to move around all my wrenches and sockets when I'm working on my car.

And one time I threw my back out cause I was so startled by one that ran out of the bushes as I was walking down the street.

Same thing happened to me when I played Neil Armstrong in Moonshot. They found me in an alley in Burbank trying to re-enter the earth's atmosphere in an old refrigerator box.

caffeine will only work for so long, its not a strong stimulant. it becomes very ineffective after some time.
