Shroom Weight Question!

I have about 5 dried P.Cubensis Ecuadors sitting in a cheap desiccation chamber. They've been drying in there for almost 2 weeks, I believe. Their stems are about 3 inches long, and their caps are about an inch in diameter, I believe.
Today, my new digital scale came in the mail. I weighed them, it said like 7-8 grams. Does this sound about right?

Anyone, please?
I'm a bit paranoid that the scale may be off. How many "average" size shrooms does 2grams usually constitute?
Thanks.

Are they completely cracker dry? That sounds kinda heavy for the amount of fungi.
I've read somewhere that a US nickel should weigh around 5 grams.

Well, when I weigh a nickel on this scale, it says 5.1 grams.
The mushrooms have been in that desiccant chamber for almost two weeks. I'm pretty sure they're "cracker dry."

Thats believable I'd say. Your scale can't be off more than a couple tenths of a gram unless its really cheap. I've seen some large mushrooms that probably weighed over 2g a piece dry. Those were maybe 10" long when fresh though.

There's a "tare" feature, and I'm supposed to be getting a 100g calibration weight in the mail in a few days.

100g calibration? Sounds like this is a scale for heavier things. Whats its rated accuracy?
Theres some good analog scales that are very accurate in the <10g range. Thats what you want.

It has increments of one-tenth of a gram.

1 US dollar, should weight out to EXCATLY 1 gram, so if you cal your scale with a dollar, and you still have 7-8 grams, then you have 7-8 grams, be happy =) and have a nice trip

"Not a chance?"
Sorry, but you're wrong...
If the two posters before were right, then my scale should be pretty accurate. One dollar came out to 1.0g and a nickel came out at 5.1g (5.0g when I weighed it a second time).
Now, my friend and I each consumed what was 3.0g according to my scale. I underestimated exactly how much mushroom I had, until we consumed them. I figured I would need more, cuz my scale was probably off or something. The reason I underestimated them is because of everything I've read on the board. The trip was *strong*, but it didn't freak us out or anything. We're both pretty well grounded, I think. The second half was pretty damn annoying though...After a few hours we wanted it to end. Well, I know better now.
