Trich problems after fruiting
    #6637552 - 03/05/07 12:49 PM (16 years, 11 months ago)

I just recently finished my first flush on my first attempt at the PF tek, all went well, no contams during inoculation or before the first fruiting, however, in both cakes I have got a trich infection after the first fruiting, in one cake it's pinning again, even though it's contaminated, (and it even had a brief run in with cobweb mold), but I just dont understand how these cakes got tric after the first flush.

Oh, just for the info, I dunked one, it got it, but i decided to jut inject destilled water into the other to rehydrate it, but alas, it happened again. Any tips for my next grow? I think im gonna try to salvage a last flush from the second cake and then todd the fruting chamber. My grow isn't where my next one will be so im not worried about contaminating the room.

It's from not having enough air exchange. Leave the lid loose or drill holes into the fruiting chamber. Stale, still air is what encourages molds.

thanks man, It's appreciated. This thing is definitely a learning process, but its one of the most fun and interesting hobbies I've had.

One more question, can my cake regain the lost ground now that it will have enough fresh air, in that I mean, kill the mold off on it's own?

The cake answered my question, its recolonizing over the green mold, im almost positive its mushroom myc and not green mold, but time will tell.
