Smelly Cobweb mold??
    #6641804 - 03/06/07 02:56 PM (17 years, 17 days ago)

hey guys, just a question, one of my jars is 100% done colonizing, and another is stuck at like 50% id say it its not moving much now on the out sides of the white myc spots is this darker white (i wouldnt say grey just yet) fuzzy possible thin myc, but i wasnot sure if this is just early thing myc or cobweb?

the jars both smell fine, does cobweb mold smell? ive searched and found that heavy bad cases of cobwebmold smell horible, but nothing on light cases that could be confused from light myc by a noob like my self? thanks for any help

i will try to get pics, but my camera tends to get reall fuzzy, and unclear when i take pics upclose...ill fool around with it somemore

When one jar is noticeably slower and of a different color than the rest, it's a good sign of mold. There are many molds that can ruin our spawn, Dactylium being only one of them and not all that common. If you have a darker color at the edges, and especially if there is a line of demarcation between the growths, then one or the other is mold, so toss it out.
