Catii Scouting: Need IDs
    #663747 - 06/05/02 06:26 AM (22 years, 9 months ago)

today i bought my dad a father's day present and decided to make some use of it before i gave it to him. i got him a Cannon C-700 digital camera and 128mb mem card and went to some local places that sell catii. i figure i'll try to get a positive ID on any psychoactive catii before i go blowing more money. the first place i went was walmart. i took a few pics of some catii then found some others and just started taking pics when some black guy that worked there said i wasn't allowed to be taking pictures. he said some crap about it being private property so i said i was planning some landscaping and needed pics to set it up. still can't take pictures. what kind of fucked up policy is that? anyways, heres the pics. lemme know if i found anything good.

first stop, walmart

The third one down could be a strain of Peruvian Tortch, but I kind of doubt it. The fourth and sixth pics are of Blue Myrtle, not active, but can be used to graft Peyote onto them for faster growth. The rest are just run of the mill cacti.

Can't remember what the first one is called but

2) might be some kind of Stenocereus

3) Stetsonia coryne

4) Myrtillocactus geometrizans

5) ditto

Six and seven both have the genus name on the label...

None of them are known to be active. Keep looking, you'll track a Pedro down eventually.
