Hunting in QLD Australia

Last year I put a thread up showing some photos from an area in South East Queensland - unfortunately though this thread seems to have disappeared into cyberspace and is lost forever. I still have the photos saved and will chuck them up later.
Anyway, one of the pics was of these huge Copes that at the time I didnt correctly ID as it was my first ever time hunting in the tropics -

Anyway, because at the time I wast 100% sure of what I was holding I didnt take away any specimens and therefore didnt get any prints...
This year in early January however, I was fortunate enough to revisit the area - this time with the love of my life - so I made a point of returning to the same field that I hunted in last year, in the hope to find some more monster Copes and get a few prints. I was lucky and there were a fair few around, not as many as the last time, but we still found some big copes - you can see Mr's Otto holding one of the monsters, and this time I got some prints of them -

We also found a few cubes -

The final haul after it had been air drying for a couple of days -

Thanks, she was the one who took the photo of the fern so she takes the credit for that one...
I passed on your message and she blushed and said thanks very much.

There were a few around - have a look at my comment above the 5th row of pics.
Its hard to properly store freshly picked mushrooms when your living in a tent..! We had a ball though, here's a few photos of some of the trippy art at the festival we went to a few days later (the fungus was put to very good use... )-

I concur. Should you ever find more of those growing there, be sure to PM me and we can negotiate for sending one here, too.

Ahh, I missed that line, thanks for pointing it out.
Nice art- it reminds me of my experience at Burning Man (first time with mushrooms as well).

Nice finds OttO. Just curious, but what festival was that?

Hey OttO...
Just wondering if that "h2o fall" is near the patch? It's a beautiful area there.

It is in the same national park yeah - not all that far from the patch.
Its a pretty big area and theres probably lots of primo spots to check out - there is also a natural bridge, glow worms and heaps of lookouts.

Nice. I went in 2002. It was nothing short of an eye opening experience, and one which I will never forget. As if the giant electroluminescent flying butterflies and hopping kangaroos trailing behind invisible bicyclists (can't see the unlit bikers at night- too dark) wasn't entrancing enough - Surely a sight under the effects of mushrooms, with moving, mystical looking vehicles for miles around you.
