can i just remove the cap?
    #6632667 - 03/03/07 09:47 PM (17 years, 1 month ago)

i have a little bunch of beauties forming on one of my cakes. one of them has finished extremely earlier than the others and is getting ready to drop some spores. i tried to remove it, but the others are attached very firmly to the early bird and will be pulled off it. i don't want to do that and was wondering if i could just remove the cap for now to prevent my cake from getting all dirty.

Cut it off and you won't have to worry about pulling the others out.

the stem will potentially rot dependant on how long you plan to wait to harvest the others
