Casings per Setup

Can you pack the grow area full of casings and have them survive as long as you are providing enough frsh air. How many for 18 gal?

And how many faeries can dance on a mushroom cap?

That all depends on how big the casings are, too.

The key here is to have a lot of air volume in there because these casings are going to generate Co2. Think about it this way. If you fill every cubic inch of the terrarium with solid objects (casings) so there's only about 10 cubic inches of air in there, it's not going to take long at all for that air to be filled with Co2. If, instead, you have a huge amount of air in your terrarium, then you will have to flush the Co2 out much less frequently.

So the gist here is, you don't want to cram your terrarium with casings.
