    #6610546 - 02/25/07 09:19 PM (17 years, 1 day ago)

I don't know where to start. I know how to grow other types of shrooms but not edibles. Can I grow them the same way? (WBS - spawn to h/poo and cased in a double tub.)

I am not expecting you guys to tell me step by step I read for about a year before growing other shrooms and i will read about edible also if pointed to a tek.

thanx Joker

You pretty much have it. They'll grow on cased horse manure. They like to fruit cooler than cubes though. You might try fruiting in the garage if you have one, or some other cool spot. I have some ports going right now as a matter of fact. I just spawned to horse manure/compost three days ago.

How much cooler? I was interested in going this route to start out with if the process was similar.

I suggest buying Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms by Stamets if you don't have it already, its extremely helpful for growing gourmets!

The Mushroom Cultivator is also a really good read (same author), has in depth info on growing Agaricus species (Portobellos, Common Buttons etc.) and how to compost horse manure and all that. Bit more technical I found though than GGMM (very good for other types of gourmets).

Agreed. I still refer to both often.

Mycelium Running is great it is the book that made me look in to mushrooms again. I always thought of fungi as the enemy (I love my plants) then I got a copy of mycelium running and have gone grow mad.
