It was identified by Dr. Tjakko Stijve of Nestles L:td. in Vevey, Suisse.
Before I collected specimens between Hilo and Mauna Kea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii it was only known from Africa. Now it is also recognized from Hawaii.
However, I only found it once in a twelve year period so it is not a very common species. Like the scarces Conocybe cyanopus and Conocybe smithii it eludesbeing found as uncommon in maure because it is rare.
Regarding that list from Africa it also listed that species as Agaricus goosensieae.
And it failed to list Psilocybe cubensis, Psilocybe aquamarina, Psilocybe goniospora, Psilocybe maire which are all psilocybian also psilocybian, but it did list Pluteus atricapilus whch is also a psychoactive psilocybe. And Panaeolus tropicalis, but also left out Panaeolus subbalteatus which is in Africa.
