Sorry for being a dick. I didn't even occur to me when I replied; I had just gotten home from work...

i think you guys that received the sample or plan on ordering one and dont know what to do with it should send them to poke smot!.
that might cut down costs if youre really interested in one of his units when they are completed.
no point in wasting them.

there were quite a few projects going on using the sht11 on avrfreaks a few years back. their projects archive might be a good place to check out for sample code etc. if your new to the device.
as other's have stated, if you're not into electronics it's not for the faint of heart
thing's you'd need to know/learn to be successful
- how to write code (assembly/C usually for MCUs or PC interface) - buy or build a programmer for MCU - read and understand datasheet for sht11 - circuit / pcb design for interfacing (and nothing half-assed if controlling line voltage)
if anyone's just looking for a digital temp sensor go buy one for the 20 bucks or whatever they sell for nowadays.
and if poke smot! ends up marketing and selling what he creates, whatever the cost, it would be worth it compared to the hundreds of hours it would take someone new to do this for one project, though the knowledge gained is invaluable.
