"Vermiculite better than Perlite"?
    #662513 - 06/04/02 10:26 AM (22 years, 4 months ago)

So, browsing through fanaticus.com, i noticed something that he said that i hadn't really heard of...: "Vermiculite was used on the bottom - moistened for humidity."
"Vermiculite might be better than perlite - period. One can conceivable become "perlite free" as so many now are "peat moss free"."

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback as to if he is right, and I was wondering what it's pros and cons are?

Thanks

I think I'll stick with perlite. Contaminants won't grow as well on perlite as on vermiculite. Sure, contamination can survive on either substance, but it is far less likely to become growth on perlite. Plus its easier, and I am a very lazy person.
