Thats increadble!
I dont want to argue the health related issues here (please!... but I have never seen such flowers on such a plant before. (and I live in a tobacco growing state)
Can you elaborate as to the enviromental/feeding factors involved?
Thanks man!

It was grown in one of these, under a 400w HID.

Here is a stupid question.... I wonder if the flowers have more nicotine than the leaves do?

Accually the flowers did smell pretty good. The leaves are turning a dark brown color, and developing a cigar aroma. I stacked all the dry leaves up and stored them in a cedar box (to cure them). I will probably roll cigarettes out of most of them, and roll sweets with the really big perfect leaves. Oh and the yield was about 3 stacks of 10 or so leaves (per plant), the leaves are around a 1' long and 6'' wide.
Thanks for your interest, KX

Do you use a certain light cycle to induce flowering with a Tobacco plant? - Does 12/12 on/off work?

I have recently been advised by a former tobacco production worker that the flowers of tobacco plants are normaly cut off-ed 'cuz that they contain no nicotine.... any other word on this?

Hey all Well its not surprising that you wouldn't have seen flowers on tobacco plants in a growin region, that is because if the tobacco is being grown to be smoked, it is considered to detract a lot from the quality if they are allowed to flower. What they do if they're growin it to smoke is they pinch the tips as soon as buds appear, and this allows the leaves to mature on the plant. The leaves are picked when they begin to turn yellow. The leaves are cured and rolled into cigarettes / cigars. This is the 'proper' way of doing it, well one of them anyway. When I grew my tobacco I let it flower, cause I'm not much of a smoker and I liked the look of the plant. I did cure the leaves though and it turned out OK, I think you have to be an acual smoker to notice the difference between flowered / non flowered. The guy who gave me the tobacco seeds grew his own for smoking purposes, he is the one that told me most of this stuff, and he pinched the plants for their first harvest but then they grew more leaves and flowered, this time he let them flower and he said the un-flowered tobacco was slightly smoother and better tasting.

certainly that hydro setup and 400w HID could be put to better use growing fat buds but nice post all the same....

Your right... I have only recently learned that tobbacco plants are "toped" (top most growing shoots are cutt off) on a regular means... I find it strange that pot flowers are so much more potent in thc (than there leaves are) yet tobbacco has more nicotine in the leaves verus it's flowers.
