Bringing things out of your dreams

I have dreams all the time where I realize that I'm dreaming but I want to bring back things from my dreams to the real world. I fill my pockets full of whatever hoping and half expecting that when I wake up they'll still be in my pockets. That would be the greatest thing in the world if I could bring back things from my dreams.
Anybody else ever have dreams like this, or if you did what would you try to bring back.

just people/situations
I've tried to either bring them back or hang on to them and remain in the dream
neither works and I think it defeats the purpose of dreaming and waking

Works the other way for me, I feel an overwhelming relief when I wake up , still crying from the horrors of my Uncle's basement.

volcano vaporiser, massive bag of weed. Had an almost crippling let down when I woke up empty handed, spoiled my whole day...

so are you saying that you sleep with your pants on??
ok obviously people would want to bring things back from dreams to the real world, but we all know that will never happen

No, I dunno, I guess I expect it to be somewhere near me or be holding it or something. That's just what I think when I'm in the dream and you know you're not really thinking when you're in a village made of chocolate. I know it'll never happen, but I still wish it would, or if I could just live one long dream.

A couple nights ago I dreamed that me and two friends were on a road trip, and I convinced them to stop at Turning Stone (casino) real quick and that I would hurry. I went in and played black jack (which I suck at in real life) and I ended up taking like an hour which pissed my friends off, but I won tens of thousands of dollars, and then I started to wake up and I was like "What the FUCK, I don't really have any of that money damn it!"

"what if you slept, and what if in your sleep you dreamed, and what if in your dream you went to heaven and there you plucked a strange and beautiful flower, and what if when you awoke you had the flower in your hand? Ah, what then?" - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
I think good ol Carlos Castaneda wrote a book on the subject of finding things in your dream reality and then finding them in your wake reality as well.

Frederik van Eeden used to try and leave a mark on the real world well dreaming. He would lick his hand. Here is what he wrote about his experiment
"In February 1899, i had a lucid dream, in which I made the following experiment. I drew with my finger, moistened by saliva, a wet cross on the palm of my left hand, with the intention of seeing whether it would still be there after waking up. then i dreamt that i woke up and felt the wet cross by applying my hand to my cheek. And then a long time afterwards i woke up really and knew at once that the hand of my physical body had been lying in a closed position undisturbed on my chest all the while"
