i did the same thing..i would just add more perlite to it or just be careful next time

IMO, the water is not good in your terrarium.

Its very simple just to take a strainer, and rinse the perlite through some running water, and then dump that in your terrarium. The water on the bottom usually leads to stinky perlite and possible contams and bactiera...

standing water isn't necessary...
...maybe the perlite has something to constantly wick up but IMHO you just need wet perlite for good humidity...i've never had a problem with soaking, straining, then dropping some H202...I always spray the top of the perlite and the sides before putting anything inside!

Use a spray bottle to keep the perlite wet.
