Why the Rye Packet in Magic Bags?

Hey,

Ok, so I get my magic compost bag from Dr. Bluethumbs the other day...I open it up and notice there's a little packet of rye near the top of the bag, hovering above the rest of the compost. Seeing as how the injector port was near the rye packet I figuerd that I was supposed to innoculate the rye packet, let the mycelium grow in there and dump it out. My question is though, why can't I just straight up innoculate the compost?....I just don't get it. Any answers out there?

yeah man,
Well first off you're going to have to pressure cook the rye, innocuate it and incubate till its completely colonized. (like a pf cake).

Shake it up afterwards and use that to innoculate it into the compost. No, you cant just innoculate the compost, it wont work very well, if at all.

Read up on grains cause your going to have to have some sucessful grain colonization beofre spawning the compost.

And in order to sterlize your grain, you are going to have to get a pressure cooker!!!
