slow colonization???help!!!

i innoculated 12 jars almost exactly a month ago. one of these is just about fully colonized, the others are still 50%. why has it taken them so long? i keep them in the box under my bed, room temp about 70/75 degrees. they are all eq's. i did in fact use the regular 1/2 pint jars instead of the wide mouth- is this why so slow? any thoughts would be helpful.

warmer temps = faster growth

Could be that your substrate is to wet. Also when incubating temps should be around 80-82 for optimum growth. 70-75 you will see slower growth. Are the holes on top of your jars covered or not?

These are just a few things to look at. I am sure other people will have other ideas.

Coould be many things: Low temperature, insufficient sterilisation(thus bacterial contamination), bad substrate composition(too liitle/much water), unviable spores....

there are lots of moisture droplets on the inside of the glass- may be too wet and yes my hole are covered.
