Snowboarders !
    #6614350 - 02/26/07 09:00 PM (17 years, 1 month ago)

Done any good boarding this year? I'm on my reading week and so far I've gone snowboard every single day. Snowboarding just gets better and better, the better that I get as a rider. I'm lovin this!

last dec 06, I hit up Whistler B.C. I can't wait to go back, amazing time there. Good amount of snow as well.

I'm getting that itch to buy new gear.. ahh resist!

I haven't been able to go all year :frown:
I left all my shit at home, and I don't know about any places near by.
Can't wait for spring break so I can go.

I haven't Gone snow boarding Since the double sided board was just making the big scene.

If i Didn't live in the South I'd be shredding every winter.

Some of the most fun ever. Before those SnowSkates came out we had a gentle slope to our backyard. We'd take all our old Skate decks and put them on a router to shape up the edge a bit and wax them up. We built entire Parks with rails and kickers and shit.

same here i went to mammoth for a Christmas 3 day trip. i had so much fun then the last day i left my goggles cause it wasn't snowing or windy and went to the top, and sure enough it was like 60ml winds or something and i couldn't even see and i still went down! i just put my hood on and kinda blindly went slow. i got stuck on the road runner i think its called cause the wind build these bumps all through it and i had to sit through it till i could finally make it out. i was in my own personal hell. i screamed out and no one was their to hear me say WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS! i felt like a major bad shroom trip i had where i was on the floor turning over and over feeling like i was braking out of this cocoon as i kept asking my self and getting madder saying what the fuck is this!

goggles aren't only for the wind and such they stop you from going blind from staring at bright ass snow all day. You can get serious damage from it.

I love snowboarding. Im from Australia so the snow is generally shit but hoping for some decent falls this season. Wanna give my new setup a decent run...

What does everyone have if you own stuff?

I got a Burton Baron 167 and burton mission bindings, with deeluxe boots. All up was about $1100 Australian so it was a fairly good deal.

That was brand new btw...

I have an old Burton Clash that I ride occasionally, but I usually stick to my Burton Custom now. White Burton Freestyle bindings, SL-9 boots, and you guess it, a Burton jacket. Ronin 6/4 white. Some cheap, but extremely warm and comfortable gray pants, equally cheap and effective black gloves of some sort. Thin, but extremely warm and waterproof, so they're really useful on the hills. And of course my beloved Oakley A Frames with a myriad of lenses.

Yeah, I pour a lot of money into my gear.

The risk is the best part.

I'm not really one to ride the park, although I do.
I like riding powder, or if I'm on an average mountain just ripping down as fast as possible. Me and my friends like to race, most are skiers though, so if I win it's usually not by much and I got lucky.

Been a good year in washington. Shreding Stevens Pass with a nice 100+ base and some powder on top for a nice ride.

I'm so jealous of all of you who got to snowboard this year!  Since I moved to the central coast...there aren't many good snowboarding spots   I made it back home once, but there wasn't any snow.  Now my family keeps emailing about how GREAT it is and how the powder there gives "new meaning to the word awesome."

...It makes me sad.  :emocry:

:drooling:

I'm too broke to take advantage of all the new snow.  Damned car payments  :cuss:

My trip to Colorado last winter was worth two seasons though, so its all
good

these 1st two shots are at the top of breckenridge, Peak 8, a 5-10 minute hike above the highest chairlift in North America.  13,000 feet.  Wind was howlin too!

having fun, trying not to fall over

This year has sucked.  I went to heavenly in january during the cold snap that killed off all our citrus.  it was 18 below in the mornings (literally) and the snow was crap.  Got a few good runs in but nothing like the past few seasons.

That's pretty cool!

Man, I haven't been snowboarding in years! I used to board all the time when I lived up north, though. I really loved it, too! I had all Burton gear, but I don't have anything but the pants, now.

Dude 13000 feet is pretty hairy! It looks like you are in an airplane with the clouds like that!

Just got back from the mountain and it was definately the best day of skiing for me, conditions wise, EVER. I sustained a little tweak to my knee early in the day but i never leave early so I stayed till the last chair.

I am utterly exhausted from walking back up to my cabin after i parked the car by the road. Its technically a summer home area so the road is closed permanently all winter. Also means that i am the only soul in a 20 mile radius! It took me an hour and a half to make it back in here! The snow was up to my waist and its a .6mi hike....i literally had to crawl hands and knees on the snow once i got to the drifty section of the hike. Thank god that once i get to the home stretch its kinda flat so i am able to strap on my skis (yes, i am a skiier) and skate home.
once i reached the door I shouted hallelujah with all the strength i had left, and fell back into a snow drift with complete with uncontrollable maniacal laughter.
After a few minutes of sheer bliss in the snow drift I entered my warm cosy cabin - and took a huge shit while listening to some jimi hendrix box set.
It was such an epic day!
thanks for reading i just had to share it with somebody!

this pic is where i start the hike. i took it last night before another 15 inches fell down at lake level.
