Some mushies are better to be consumed fresh. It might help to know what kind they are. I try to avoid fresh ones though, just for the fact that fresh ones can sometimes give unwanted stomache upset. If you insist on eating them fresh, I would put them in a blender with OJ and drink them. And if you think the taste is bad when they're dry...just wait until you eat em fresh...LOL.

I recently ate some fresh picked EQ's and they gave me no problems at all... The taste was bad, but I could still chew them up quite well and swallow them without much difficulty. I hardly had any stomach upsetness at all, but this could be b/c I fasted for quite a while before consuming.

Love to eat them fresh......just check for buggies and gobble them up..........Watch out for those ninja cows that like to sneak up on you for stealing their shrooms. I prefer fresh to dried. I don't mind the taste at all.....

i don't like the taste one way or the other, but fresh ones don't get lodged in your teeth and have a crisp 'snap' to them, kinda like other fresh vegetables.

and if you're going to blend them in something, i suggest V8 (if you like tomato juice, of course). after you blend it, the drink smells just like mushrooms, but you can't taste them once you actually drink it.

I used to read about people saying fresh ones hve a terrible taste. After eating fresh ones for the first time I have to say they don't taste bad at all. Not great either though.

My dog's sister's boyfriend who saw Ferris pass out at the 31 Flavors last night loves to eat them fresh. The only difference is that he gets some nausea in the first 45 minutes after eating. After that it's smooth sailing

Every kind that I've tried fresh, I enjoyed much better than dried. its all a matter of taste. so I say EAT 'EM FRESH!

The bad taste is alot more concentrated when dry.
I don't see how anyone could prefer dry.
