Where are the PINS?

Alright, so- I'm sure this question is answerable with one or two words, but it's got a story behind it of course. I birthed one (out of four) cakes three weeks ago. When it was birthed, me (not me) and my friend (who doesn't exist of course) both were surprised to see two one inchers stickin out of the bottom of the cake (now the top of course . So, as the story goes, the damn cake's been in there (my terrarium is a rubbermaid with perlite and chicken wire) for three weeks and i still don't see any pins (besides those two shroomeis already there). The cake was a sorta not so good looking cake at first, but gradualy turned nice fluffy white over those weeks. Still- no pins??? This is my first time growing, and I used the inner resevoir tek blah blah standard half-pint cake proccedure. I THINK I know the answer... It's because the only light they are seeing is a tiny red flashing light about two millimeters wide. So I'm working on getting light- but is this correct? My cake still looks healthy but I want some muchrooms

If after the light does not work, case the cake. caseing is almost fool proof. BTW, did you put the cake in the way it was growing. Once a priest, (Who was whipped to death) put 12 cakes in the tank, upside down, and pins never showed up. Upon closer inspection, the entire bottom of the cakes were covered with pins, rotting frm being on wet perlite!

wait a minute... upside down? so if you got the cake out of the jar and jsut set it on the lid in the terrarium it would pin against the lid? you have to turn the cake over after you get it out of the jar?
