Yeah just keep the ones that your going to keep as cakes in the jars and leave in light until you see pins. For the casing, wait 1-2 more days, case it, incubate it and then put into fruiting chamber.

Is it necessary to keep the jars a couple of days after they have completly colonized? I have only done like 3 cakes so far, and every time I have just pulled them out when they were finish colonizing and just dunked them and set them into their fruiting chamber, and it has worked just fine. Usually after about 5-7 days I start to see pins and they grow up fine. What does leaving them in the jars a couple of more days do? Is this also necessary for casings?....thanks

i think its less of a problem with cakes than with casing because with casings theinside may not fully be colonized and when you break it up you are exposing un colonized substrate to possible contams
