Ferrets are awesome!!! Did you ask the pet store what was wrong with their other ferrets, that they couldn't sell? That's really strange. Bjorn looks like a chocolate sable - and are you sure he's a boy? His face is shaped more like a female's.

I think our new pup is in danger of becoming...spoiled!! And, Lucy is starting to warm up to her. They're cuddling together right now.

I'm not certain but they've apparently been having problems with it, because, the time we got Loki (we had to hunt all around town) they didn't even have any out.
I guess its possible that Bjorn is a female but he's just as big as Merlin and Loki. Maybe a closer inspection is in order?

You can tell the difference between males and females by looking at their belly. Right below where the rib cage ends, on a male, there's something that looks like a belly button...it's not a belly button. Males tens to have shorter, broader, squahes looking noses, while females have longer faces.
Here's my male, Villain
And my females, Hero and Rogue
But yeah, the easiest way to tell is their belly.

I know...it's hard for me to limit myself, and not have like 90 dogs in the house. That's why we're going to be a foster home - lots of puppies/dogs running around, but not there permanently

Well, Miss Molly is a sick little girl. We got home from our vet appointment a few minutes ago - she has conjuntivitis, kennel cough, and some kind of yet to be determind bacterial infection that is causing her to have a very high fever (103.7) and a nasty cold. Sooo...they hooked her up to an IV for a while to give her some antibiotics and fluids to bring her fever down, hopefully she starts to feel better soon. They also gave us some antibiotics to bring home with us, and some eye ointment for the conjunctivitis. They're sending out samples of her blood, stool, and mucus to the lab for testing, and hopefully it's nothing serious. $415 later, we're home, and keeping a close eye on her. The poor thing...I feel so bad, I just want her to feel better. If everyone could send a little prayer through to Molly and tell her to feel better soon, I'd appreciate it.

Here are some more pictures of Miss Molly and our other dog Lucy. Molly's bloodwork came back from the vet, and she also has giardia and roundworms, so she's on even MORE medicine now. She seems to be feeling a bit better today, we started her on a new antibiotic yesterday and today her fever was down, and her nose is less runny. Here's hoping she's on the road to recovery!
Robot, I hope you like their anti-yankee gear

Cute dogs - here's hoping Molly pulls through her ailments in fine fashion (and with shirts like those, I think she's got all the fashion she needs)! Forgive my ignorance on the matter - perhaps it was the tube tying or something - but I spy what looks to be a mark of surgery and some stiches on her belly? Just curious..
Thanks for sharin' the sweet pic's

Thanks for the well wishes Geo
Yes, she was spayed before she was sent to us, and still has stitches in. She also had an umbilical hernia that needed to be repaired, so there is a 2nd incision above where she was spayed that also has stitches. They'll be removed in just under a week or so. Her little tummy is all shaved, and it's funny looking!

Hey Liz! I'm so relieved to hear that Molly is recovering somewhat. I have a feeling that the healing will stack upon itself each day, until she is fully herself again!
(always like to see Lucy too. )

Right!
MOTH - I'm so hesitant to get my hopes up about Molly's recovery...her fever was definitely lower today than what it has been, but it's still above normal. We're making sure that she eats/drinks a lot to keep her hydrated and stuff. Hopefully she's even better tomorrow!!

I guess I was right to be hesitant to get my hopes up...this morning Molly stopped eating and drinking, and we decided to bring her to the emergency animal hospital. They checked her out there, and decided to admit her into their critical care unit. They think she may have pneumonia, and they sounded pretty grim with their prognosis. I'm an absolute wreck over this We're going to visit her from 6-7pm...visiting hours are from 11:30-12:30 and 6-7 so I'll be seeing her for at least 2 hours per day until she gets released. They estimated that she would need to be there for at least 3 days or so, maybe more if she needed it. Everyone please cross your fingers that Miss Molly pulls through this, and comes home to us. We miss her so much already She's had such a lousy start to life, she really does not deserve this.
