Happy Birthday! Here's to good health Personal Fitness Program
Introduction: I have become more aware of the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices, regular exercise and balanced activity. I have chosen to rank among the healthy conscious, and leave behind destructive lifestyles. In an age where my life could end quick or abruptly, at any moment for no good reason at all, I must arm myself and make the active choice to do whatever I can to achieve a maximum state of health. Only by our own examples can we teach others in the same way I was taught by this course. I feel I have the ability to create positive energy from negative energy, essentially performing alchemy with my body. It’s not magic or tricks; it’s readily available! It’s the power of prayer, focused thought, positive intentions (whatever you want to call it!) It’s metaphysical, on the sub cell level that science can’t fully explain in terms (yet.) There’s something inside me that wants to feel better. It’s the Spirit inside of us all, stirring and spreading wings to open air, and feet to the roots of earth, with fire in the heart, and water in the veins, the aspects of human health goes beyond the textbook. I have delved deeper into what I love most. Through the change of times and my mentors I’ve seen exactly how I can stop this decaying process and unlock my fountain of youth. Science can explain how our bodies work; the experiments can pick up emotions, intentions, feelings and lusts. It can ‘read our minds’. Science can explain how working out makes us feel more primal, human, erotic and in tune. But what science can’t do is overcome the will to break the system, to overcome the prime obstacles, to get what I really want: TO be healthy. Something about society and the global situation is trying to promote my unhealthiness, and we must stop it. Every day I am faced with environmental health roadblocks. It’s a war and I am going to battle.
1) Who, what, why: The main emphasis for my personal fitness program is muscular endurance. I rank myself medium balanced in this area and I have chosen this specifically because every day in my job, at home and at school, I use this skill. I feel like if I can get stronger, for longer, I’ll be on the straight road to becoming my full higher self. I love getting healthy and I am motivated to continue my personal plan. I started my program 4 weeks ago, and have planned my next 4 weeks (and beyond) Starting level: My starting level is intermediate because I have lots of background in this area but I require lots of future work. I think my starting level in cardio respiratory endurance is intermediate, and my core strength is a beginner/intermediate. By getting one area strong, you’re getting them all strong. The body is made in the image of God, and I feel we must make the three into one. (Synergy applies) What is my goal? At the end of 8 weeks I will be more fit, more aware, and more able to live a healthy lifestyle. This is a realistic goal with some life behavior adjustments. Instead of sitting around and wasting away I’m going to work hard to live a longer life. My motivation is a longer, healthier life. More time with the people I love, more time to do something good. More time is the bottom line. More time to be happy, feel a joyous memory and catch the cool breeze. More time to be with the one I love. 2) What I do and will do: Before I work out my muscular endurance I do my own unique stretch and warm up. I do windmills with my arms and rotate my wrists and stretch my shoulders and arms and upper back. I spend a lot of time on coordination. I do this slowly to be sure to flex every muscle in my arm flowing and ready with oxygen. Then I’ll work on my legs by bending over as close as I can to the floor with my feet in several positions (toes pointing left right or straight) I then stretch the rest of my legs and feet and arms. I keep my back and stomach tight and then hit the weight machines; Biceps, bench presses, leg press, sit-ups, free weights. I am a big fan in free weights; in my workout I will perform modern dance, freedom of motion and my own unique workout. I feel this benefits me best and gives me great pleasure before and after. I warm up, workout, and cool down. I drink water and stretch in-between heavy sets. I think about positive thoughts and try to remain stress free.
3) Apply the F.I.T.T. Principles: According to the frequency, intensity, time and type principal I work out two times a week with a vigorous weight lifting routine, supplemented by a day of rest and four days of walking and mild workout. By spacing out the heavy lifting, my body has time to build and repair, and I can work on flexibility and cardio respiratory endurance during the “off” time (however there is really no day one can go without making healthy choices if you are committed to the lifestyle). Rushing a workout is never a good idea. I take my time, feel my body, become one with the machine or weight, free flow with my movements and have a good mental focus. I eat well before hand and hydrate during to lower intensity and maximize efficiency. Length of time recommended: Since I enjoy working out, feeling the burn and churn of my body, I like to draw out my workouts to about two hours. However sometimes with cardio I will be working loose for four hours or more. With the specific target of Muscular Endurance, my hard route is about 45 minutes. This gives me two or more reps and rests on my major muscle groups. I love the GPC gym and I think more students need to utilize it. 4) The principal of overload: To avoid overload, I have started a unique schedule of workout to make sure I am utilizing the tools available. Now in my routine, I like to make daily increases, every day I workout, I increase accordingly. It’s a precision factor that can’t be guessed only felt. That is, as many reps as to get to the target heart rate, and use force, without over using force. It’s a dance. Over the 4 weeks I’ve been on this structured program, I have noticed the increases have been more than I could have predicted!! I have gotten way stronger way faster than I imagined possible. So for the next four weeks I’d say I’ll be able to stretch to the ground, to lift my body weight, and to be flexible in my max capacity. And to be using my maximum abilities daily. If I could stick to this routine I’d be so much more sexy, sound, and secure with myself. It’s a long shot, but I think I’m capable. This is my ultimate goal, and my danger factor is not overload, it’s under load. Sincerely, STAL.
