HELP! window plant...

my friend wants to grow a "lilac" in his window. there are trees nearby to block anyone from seeing his prize winning "lilac" from far away but there is an alley below that if one were to look up one might see the lilac. any tips on how to camoflauge his lilac with a screen or something. other plants arent an option and also he cant get to the outside of the window, whatever is applied will have to be on the inside of the window. please help!

are you sure your lilac will get enough light?

he may be paranoid but it is just in case, since he lives in an apartment and the groundskeeper wanders back there sometimes. also, he believes that there will be enough light for his prize winning lilac! thanks guys....any other help?

well the window is about 12 feet off the ground but one may be able to see up there. as for the blinds, that is a good idea but space is ultra limited and so that wont be an option. the window tint is a good idea but will it let enough light through???? thanks!

lolz....i know it sounds strange. but this subterfuge is from both the outside and inside( he doesnt want frequenters to see it) . i have seen the setup. you cant tell a thing from inside the room with the window! that is hidden!! but this leaves no space even for blinds. there actually are blinds but the lilac is between the blinds and the window. i guess he will take the chance that noone sees it from the alley.

A simple solution. By some clear floor tarp,( called a drop cloth eventhough it's plastic), from the hardware store. The kind you use to cover the floor if you were to paint walls in a house. It's not exactly clear, but a bit opaque. Tack or tape it to the window. It will let almost all the sunlight to pass through, but will be opaque enough to obscure whatever is behind it from the outside.
