I would suggest digging yourself a nice little hole to hold your casing somewhere where it is nice and shady most of the time.

Yup, and if ya got any straw or hay, soak some overnight and lay it loosely over the hole. This will ensure a higher humidity and protection for the little guys. Water/mist the straw lightly every day or so when it looks dry.

good idea!....the only thing that might pose a prob is the fact that the casings are flushed out. Like angry shroom said, using some straw, or dung even better (pastureized) to provide more nutrients, and the desired humidity would be benefecial. You can "lace" the hole w/new material, top it off with some casing soil, then throw some grass seeds on it to create the right microclimate even and should produce. This is only because the food is gone and the mycelium will probably become contaminated if not. Good luck with the project, and keep us updated.....

well my casing isnt totally flushed out im sure if i let it grow it will produce more just not in abundance. So i was thinking of planting it in hole (broken up)and mixing a little with some cow dung and then covering it with various sizes of pieces of dung wetting it every day (or when it looks dry) i might add some hay now tho to cover the dung. But where i want to plant is next to and under a plant its nice and leafy with big leaves (i think its called hybiscus but i might just be pulling that name out of my ass) so where the plot would be is like 5 or 6 inches under those leaves. it still gets light but nicely filtered and its right next to my house and right near it i have a hose to use to make it like "artificial rain" tell me what you think of this plan (oh yeah and do you think that ill get as big of fruits as big as these grown on dung outdoors) i got this picture from the hawks eye it is Equador and so is that casing i want to plant outdoors
