Lizard Bedding for Casings

Hey guys. I bought some lizard bedding and plan on using it in my next couple of casings. It states "highly absorbent" and should provide a great environment for my little cubs. I was wondering if anyone has had success with this stuff? Mine came in a small compacted wrapping. I'm supposed to let it sit in water for 30 minutes before using because it will expand greatly. I was wondering if anyone has used this stuff and how did they sterilize it. I'm thinking of boiling it to expand it to full potential and then steam it for extra sterilization. Any thoughts? Thanks.

just throw it in the boiling water, break it up with a fork and fluff it. then take however much you're going to be using (that brick will turn into a whole lot) and microwave it for 5 min. thats all the sterilizing coco coir requires. might want to raise the ph with lime too to prevent contams.
