The first book was cool. but each book after that got progessively worse untill i just stopped.
they made enders shadow, which is supposed to be the first book from a different persons perspective, people have been saying thats cool... so i might read it.

I've already mentioned it but The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, oh man its was just written so bad. I couldn't finish it, i dunno if Wolfe always writes like that but i'm not willing to spend the money to find out.

Some other books thats didn;t live up to Expatations, The Thin Red Line, Battlefield Earth, Blade Runner 2: The edge of Human.
Although that last one was kinda my fault. I never read the first one so i had no reference point but thats my fault for being born after it was popular.
peace

Rushdie's "Satanic Verses" disapointed.....I thought it would be more of a challenge......it was good, but not quite what I expected.......

I dislike the later Stephen King novels. The first few were GREAT...then he just started pouring them out like 10 a year...fuck that!

Jack Kerouak's (sp?) On The Road... A few of my friends read it and told me that I had to read it... One even claimed it changed her life.
I couldn't get past the first page. But, to each his own

If you take a contemporary lit class and they assign you a short story book with many different authors....let me know the name so i can order it. I love those things...they come out with new ones each year and I haven't kept up in years...so i've missed a few and am not around a college book store to grab any.....you get the picture.

I like the short story as much as, if not a little better than the novel. It is a bit harder to craft a short fiction story, afterall.....

I disliked Huxleys Doors of Perception - Heaven and Hell. It wasn't what I expected from the book. I thought he was full of crap pretty much.

One flew over the Koo Koo's Nest.. Just didn't catch my attention was to slow.

On the Road was a great book! I wish I could have an adventure like that man.. They are all mad bastards in that book!

Least favorite book ever - drumroll, please...

Pride & Prejudice, by Jane Austen

Had to read it for school - wound up using it as a soporific - 3 minutes of reading, and I was asleep...

Well, becuase of the title "Pride & Prejudice" and the fact you had to read it in highschool, I'm guessing it's about black people.

No, not at all - in fact, IIRC, it is a victorian era novel - look up the title on any search engine...

On The Road. If I don't finish it in one sitting I won't finish it at all.

Catcher In The Rye. It's a good novel, but not worth the hype.

The Kama Sutra. Interesting, but again not worth the hype.

Red Mars, Blue Mars, Green Mars, ect... I can't remember the name of the series. The concept sounded cool, but man is that shit is long winded.

Ugh. War and Peace is utter crud. On page 200 or so now, in over half a year.

So far all I know it's a bunch of rich families that are afraid of the war because it could make them less rich. Give me a story I can care about a bit.

I remember in High School we had to read Grapes of Wrath.
I remember upperclassmen saying it was a really good book. I read a lot and I thought it was horrible..

Ok, I have no idea how someone can not like Catcher in the Rye, but whatever. I hated: The Stone Diaries by Carol Shields, Great Expectations by Charles Sickens; Who Has Seen the Wind by W.O. Mitchell.

I wouldn't have liked the Doors of Perception so much if I didn't have a dictionary beside me to look up his big words, but man that essay explains EXACTLY what it feels like (at least to me) to be high on a psychedelic drug.

PS yes I know I typed Charles Sickens but I thought it looked cool so I left it.

Albion's Seeds. A book about the british folkways that migrated to colonial america and the background behind them. Sounds interesting doesn't it?
