Knowing that the more you read the more you learn. The more you learn the more intelligent you become. The more intelligence you have the more facts you can talk about. Right now i'm studying computer systems tech in college. When i graduate i might take a few classes at the local community college. Perhaps i'll take Logic, and even Philosophy. If I don't I plan on getting books and expanding my knowledge. I have a highschool History Of The World book, has plenty of information in there to keep me thinking and expanding my mind(Knowledge and Intelligence).

I was wondering though how I can become experienced after learning this stuff by applying it all to my real life. How things I read can effect my actions that I take in the real world. What information I should forget and what I should remember, changing myself each time I read something new that applies to my actions in life.

So what are some of your goals that you wish to accomplish after you read and get new information to live by?

Peace,
Droz

P.S. - Can a mod move this to S&P?

You should definitely take a philosophy class. It'll totally alter the way you perceive life as well as your actions. Start out with a Classical Philosophy class.

it's good to learn as much as possible in our lives.
be exposed to as many things as possible, and retain as much information as possible. it makes us more capable and resourceful and balanced.
wasnt this socrates' image of the perfect citizen? the well-rounded citizen?

but then you get into it, and you realize. memory is like a chalk-board. the more and more you write on it, the harder it is to read.

thank god we have the ABILITY to forget.
