Last night me and the lady watched
Goodbye Lenin!
About an east-German socialist who falls into a coma for 8 months, during which time reunification takes place. When she wakes up, to keep her from shock which could endanger her condition, her son has to create the illusion that she's still living in the old German Democratic Republic. Its funny and tragic in equal measures, to be honest I wasnt expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, I got quite involved. Well worth a look. Music from the same dude as Amelie too.

I find drug related movies great, and no it's not because I'm into drugs. Cidade de Dues, Traffic, movies of that sort.

Hairspray, released 1988
Set during the race riots of the early 60's... covers the black/white struggles in Baltimore, Ma. Features Ricki lake before she got all thin, Debbie Harry, Jerry Stiller, and transvestite actor Divine.
Very funny but serious at the same time.

I saw The Departed yesterday...
Mob movie.
Quite good.

Its a tough movie to explain but I compare it a lot to Allice in Wonderland. Its got a fantasy type plot along with a very serious war story. Very good movie.

If anyone lives near one of the few theaters which is currently playing David Lynch's new film INLAND EMPIRE, see that without hesitation.

I think that it was more of an informative movie than a story line one but I recommend The Inconvenient Truth. Was already known info for a chunk of it but still an eye opener for sure.
