New feature... personal ban?

I am finding that I am spending WAY too much time on here... I no longer trust myself during work, and I've been slacking on some work I HAVE to get done...
Is there a way to ban myself during certain hours? I know I should have the responsibility to simply not go here during work hours, but I've been trying!!
If not, can you (Ythan) think about adding such a feature?
Somewhere in your Personal Settings, you could set your work hours and a duration of ban. Then the site would treat you as banned during those hours. It might help more people than just me!
I realize there are other ways for me to limit my time, but I would circumvent them eventually... And if this gets added, I promise to immediately make a donation.

I think self-control is a much cooler feature. Not that I'm one to talk... I'm at work right now.
-------------------- Welcome evermore to gods and men is the self-helping man. For him all doors are flung wide: him all tongues greet, all honors crown, all eyes follow with desire. Our love goes out to him and embraces him, because he did not need it. ~ R.W. Emerson, "Self-Reliance"

This has been brought up multiple times. The admins are not your parent or guardian and should not be forced to spend time coding a function that will replace self-discipline.

Problem is, all my self control mojo is focused on other things. I just kinda drift on over here and I don't realize how long I'm on. then, it's 4:10, and I have 3 or 4 emails from 11:00am requesting shit that I haven't done...
I just think something like this could help out some people.
If I could ban myself from Wikipedia, I'd actually EARN my paycheck.

You could consider a product like PC Lock Up. But it's made for young school children, maybe that should tell you something.

It's not an addiction because during the weekend I'm almost never on here. At night I'm rarely on... I'd say 99% of my posts are made between 9 and 5, weekdays.
I was simply asking for a way to block JUST this site during work hours.
Oh, and I'm not "forcing" anyone. Let me know how long you honestly think it would take to implement, and I'll make an honest donation...

It would take too much time to code something like this. Basically they ban you by cookies, NOT ip address. Hypothetically speaking, lets say I get banned. All I do is delete my cookies and lo and behold I can see the login page. But they also ban you by username just incase smart asses like me tried wiping their cookies. So to code this feature you would need 4 things.
a.) A cgi (most likely) script to ban the person during those hours. b.) A log file of aforementioned person/people. c.) A cgi script to wipe the cookie of the user/users in the log file. d.) A cgi to unban the user/users in the log file.
Seems easy but it isn't. I suggest just going to your allowed website settings ( this will be a mini guide for IE users, even though I use Firefox. ) and block shroomery.org
Open Internet Explorer Click Tools Click Internet Options... Click Security Click Restricted Sites Click Sites... Type in http://www.shroomery.org Click Add
Done.
Enjoy the SofaKingGood block shroomery from work feature.

What's the point? You'd just use someone else's computer at work when they're using the bathroom anyway.
-------------------- Hi how's it going, wanna kick Heroin basically painlessly on your own, in your own house, without any government "help" ,or the "help" of a crazy condescending, judgmental medical doctor? Well then the only alternative is to get web filter software and block shroomery.org. Then again I'm sure you would find some other mycology related forum to stay on while at work anyway so make sure you block the word mycology from search engines and if it is anywhere in the site. Problem solved. That will be 100 dollars now -cough-

This topics however brings a question of mine to mind...
Can one ban people from their Journals?
I think that would be a neat feature..

Nope there's no mechanism in place for banning users from journals. I'd use the ignore functionality, or report their infraction if warranted.
