Man, my first pins finally starting to poke through and I get 2 blotches of contaminants on my casing. I removed as much as I could find. Is this going to be something that is going to keep coming back over and over again. I thought once the casings were covered, they were relatively safe. I am a bit reluctant to put anything else in the terrarium and I have some cakes about ready to case. Safe or no?

Did you sterilize your casing mix? Did you use H2O2?

i am about to do my first casing--i've read all the different teks that i could find and i dont remember anything about H202. Please elaborate.. thanks..all you guys and gals have been super helpful.....

H202 is a smart way of saying peroxide. Grab your bottle and read.

I put H2O2 in the perlite, I was afriad to put it in the casing mix. Guess I will go ahead and do that. It is just nerve racking to squirt it in with the casing as I am afraid I will kill the mycellium. Thanks for the help
