what if you made like 10 desiccant chambers out of buckets? then again, i usually only have to dry out 3-7 grams.

Iset mine between 115 and 125F, and never had a complaint.

And when you need to dry a lot, you need a dehydrator, a desiccant chamber is good for storage after their dry if you live in a high humidity area.

I've made a desiccant chamber out of a 5 gallon bucket before. I baked a couple of boxes of epsom salt for about an hour @ 400 deg., busted it up, and threw it in the bottom of the bucket. I placed a screen about an inch above it, and threw a small fan in it.

It was really cheap and it worked really well for a couple of ounces at a time, but just couldn't keep up with my growing operation. I moved on to an American Harvest dehydrator, and never looked back. :grin:

desiccant isn't worth the time by itself. if you are going to use it at all, use it after fan drying. fan drying is pretty much the most tried and true method of drying, and generally works without the need for desiccant and minimal potency loss.

of course, i always use an electric dehydrator and have no potency-related complaints at all.

I use an electric food dehydrator also and haven't found any real potency issues. It may be slightly reduced compared to fresh but the convince far outweighs the negatives.
