Substrate not being colonized

hello, i have inoculated 3 jars 7 days ago, in BRF/vermiculite combo with a double tinfoil top just like in this link http://www.shroomery.org/8412/PF-Tek-for-Simple-Minds but they have not colonized yet. they are being kept in a clear container with a auqarium heater which is giving it 27c of heat, 80f, and 99% humidity. so none have started to colonize and i took off one layer of tinfoil off of 2 and threw out one substrate because it smelt. my container has a bit of a smell too because of the humidity. a weird smell but not necessarily bad. I am just wondering what is wrong!!??

The colonization stage does NOT require high humidity levels. In fact, high humidity can be detrimental in this phase. You want high humidity during the FRUITING phase. Simply put your jars in a tub at moderate room temperature and cover with a towel. 7 days with no growth is not out of the ordinary. Drop the RH, and have some patience.

the problem is that my room temperature gets down to 18c or 64.4f. is that too cold to incubate? and if it isnt, how can i initiate pinning with such a low temp?

I've had jars take three months to fully colonize in the mid-sixties
get a space-heater

too cold!~
make a Tub in Tub incubator.
I incubate my jars at 81 degrees F. and have very fast colonization.
