I just gathered 200+ lbs of h-pooh, and got permission from the breeder or horse farmer to gather more anytime I like. "Just not to leave the gate open, or get kicked into the hot-wire" I intend to spend lots of time ensuring that I have enough pooh, piled up in the back-yard. slowly composting and growing, to supply my outdoor beds and indoor grows as well as give a little back to the community here at my favorite site. I hope to make 1000 lbs each of cube compost, panaleous compost, wood lovers compost, ect. I am hoping this will be an on-going group effort, and will be beneficial to everyone who participates, as is the basis of this site. Thank you. I have not yet even dumped but one bag in the back-yard. I have two more kitchen bags just stuffed with poop (which by the way has become a word I say at least 30 times per day... )Since there are 6+ inches of snow out there, I am thinking of just dumping it, covering it with snow and letting it finish out the winter. That should take care of the leeching issue, as well as allowing for an early start when freezing temps stop. I need a good ratio based idea of what each compost type should contain. Thank you.

Actually isn't a wood chip and sawdust based compost fairly widely recognized as a great wood lovers substrate? Oat bran, newspaper, cardboard and blah, blah, blah. What I'm getting at is that i can get some quality hardwood sawdust and chips but if I want to make a 1/2 ton pile of substrate I'd probably need to supplement... like 900lbs. I was thinking of asking some local recyclables collectors (stores, cities, private waste management companies, ect) for cardboard, and newspaper, ect. to make large amount of compost using 100% recycled ingredients.
Agar is the compost king! do a search on compost with his name in the search.
Yeah, Agar rocks!

I found Gambel oak and brought home appx 250 lbs of logs. I used a chainsaw and it left "virgin chain oil" on the logs. pretty sure this is a petroleum product
