Shiitake LC contamed? (No pics)

Hello,

Okay so I put a peice of live shiitake in an LC of karo and water. I have been incubating it only for 4 days but had it "growing" for about a week and a half. I would like to know if my peices got contamed. Tere is this whitish stuff that looks like it's coming from the peice but the peice looks like its really soggy (I think it's probably water logged) and there is this whispy stuff coming off of it but it's not very long. Some of it has a really cotton-streched out look to it like it is a fiber or somthing... I can get pics. if I need them just not right this second. Thanks in advance!
