Yes, there are i live in fl. seaside bieng gulf coast or east? let me tell you,, cubensis grow commonly. you can find em growing in/ near cow poo and rich poo soils. you can find them year round in parts of florida, however there is a dry period as well where its rare to find them unless there are good weather conditions. cubensis can be identified by the * bullet* shape of smaller shrooms, as they get bigger they will form a veil, witch turns purplish black when spores from the gills drop onto them. if youre not shure, DONT RISK IT they bruise blue. and this is a great identifier of active mushrooms. also, if you look in detail on the shroomery youlle find various different varietys that grow in florida. be carefull what you eat.. all mushrooms are edible!.. some you will only eat once tho..... what im saying is dont just go pick a shroom and eat it and expect to trip. youlle have 1 of 3 consiquences.. 1.. trip 2.. live and not trip 3.. DIE
hope this helps, dont hesitate to ask for id's of shrooms pics will be good.

shurm mans got it. it dont matter what time of the year, it matters of the weather conditions. he says 75+ degrees and 85% humidity is prime. he is pretty much right on. ive went out to my field one day., when i got there my handy field thermomiter,, haha i left one there one day.. showed 83 degrees. it had rained 3 hours prior to that, making the humity 90-100% and it was still drizzling as i went shrooming, i found 3 ozs of shrooms that day
good luck. wait for rain or high humidity.

Oh yea they are definately here man! i live in North Florida too, near that Seminole campus.
Not out this time of year because its too cold, and too dry. Wait til it heats up and starts to rain, gettin some of that Flo Humidity, and then hunt your little hear out. Plenty of cow fields around, then you are set.
Just go out one night after a nice rainy week, and go to the nearest cow fields. I find its best to scope it out before hand, during the day, just a quick look over, that way you know where the cows are, how many there are in the field, and how many Bulls there are, watch out for the bulls! they like to eat people. Specially look out if there are baby cows in the field, momy cows eat people too.
Also, once you find some shrooms, take plenty of photos of where you got them, pre-pick and post-pick. Then post the photos up on this site, adn we will tell you if they are ok to eat. Never eat a shroom before we i.d it because you will probably die.
