The new one may be much faster but it seems that now there are many more stupid posts, dumb questions and repeats.

Sure, you can use this one as an example. I had in mind the the endless posts in Mushroom Cultivation which have been answered ad nauseum. I still think there should be a page that appears before you can make a post that asks if the poster to be has done a search and read the FAQ with the ability to do both on that very same page. Also on that page should be a list of rules such as no cross posting and off topic posting. Add a list of the descriptions for the forums just like on the list of forums page.
It may help, it may not. Can't hurt though.

Newbie questions are just part of internet life, I have seen countless websites attempt to force newbies to read before they ask but I've never seen anything work.
We should make it so we catch many newbies before they post, but it will never stop and the sooner you accept newbies as a part of life the better.
I know its frustrating, but these people are interested in our hobby, I remember how it was for me the first time I posted questions about growing... People were really helpfull and even though I know that those first few posts of mine were probably easily found in the grow section, it still felt nice to hear others give advice.
Sometimes newbies read a tek and get very confused, so many new terms to learn and it can seem a bit overwhelming at first. I think sometimes these repetitive questions are a way for newbies to clear up any confusion or to help them understand.
I've always loved Anno's approach, he's been a king of helping so many newbies out and I know more than anyone he probably wants more newbies to read up first.. But he is also the first to tell you that its important to help people, they come here looking for knowladge and its our duty to help them out...
Its like a professor who's been teaching for a long time, I bet every freshman class he gets the same shit asked, yet he knows its part of his job, even though its repetitive and sometimes boring he knows its important.
