Multi-Spore Inoculation
    #649112 - 05/28/02 06:00 AM (22 years, 4 months ago)

Let us say that a person were to innoculate several jars of substrate using a syringe. Now the jars are starting to show mycellial growth. Some are progressing a little faster that others. Is there any reason not to combine the substrate into one pan for fruiting, or is it best to keep them separated since they are showinng slightly different growth parameters.
If one jar is ready earlier that another, I have read that it is acceptable to refrigerate a jar for a few days.

If you have enough jars, I would personally seperate the jars. Say half are done early, maybe birth those and get a nice flush from them using double-ended casing or something. Then wait for the other half to finish colonizing and use those to case with.
Otherwise, yeah, throwing them in the freezer or anywhere where the temp is cooler (below 70 F) will slow growth.

I personally would just seporate them, the refrigerator is one of the most unsterile places in the household.
