Another Icepak Query
    #649011 - 05/28/02 04:21 AM (23 years, 24 days ago)

Hi. So I have brought the temp in my chamber down from 80+ to 75 with an icepak. I plan on leaving the pak in overnight, taking it out in the morning and freezing it again and putting it back in the chamber each evening, thus (I hope!) mimicing natural growing conditions and temp ranges.

My question is: the cake I have placed in the chamber is quite old. It took a couple months for it to grow (it's from my first batch which I had thought was a dud - surprise!) and when I birthed it I found it to be quite dry and light. Will it's dryness prevent it from pinning, even if the moisture and temperature are all right? I have other cakes (2nd batch) which are growing nicely and should be ready to birth in less than 3 weeks and I suppose I'll see a difference in moisture content with those once I birth them but I'd like some advice on this before I do that.

If i were you i would go to jack in the boxx and get some straws.(dont drink outta them). cut them in half, ram them into the top of your cakes/cake, fill them up about half way w/ 1 part peroxide, 50 part water, it will take ahile for the cakes to absorb it but will help it out alot!
