    #647218 - 05/27/02 07:29 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

HAY, FOLKS!!!
Had an Idea last night!!!??? also seen something simalar at picture forum?
I noticed the way mycellium ripps through my dung casings!!! So I put some
under 1 of my cakes, about an inch thick? I think the it will collenize fast?
I figure if it does then risk of contams would be low? PLUS!!!! It would be
more food for cakes,AND!!! cubies like cow an horse dung!!!RIGHT SO???
ILL LET YOU ALL KNOW SOON???!!! anyway what do you think? FOLKS!!!!...LOU

Nice idea, sort of like a platform of dung. I've mostly heard people putting dung on top.. but i'm sure the mycelia would grow downward as well.

Good idea! I read a similar tek but instead of dung they use spaghnum (sp?) moss (the purpose was to provide moisture). Expect fruits directly from the dung!

Watch out for contams, though...

good luck!

its probably not going to colonize all that fast and will probably be open for contams...the best thing to do is to crumble the cake up and mix it with the dung...that way the mycellium can reach different parts of the dung quicker and colonization time is reduced greatly
