I have a 3-4 inch beard on my face... some chicks really dig it... others say "you should shave". I think some like the novelty of pulling on a beard and stuff... having a beard tickling their face... others realize they hate beards after they've felt the tickle...
I definitely get a better response though now that it's this long because it isn't prickly anymore...
By far the worst responses I've gotten were during stubble stages...

Oh, I know about the sandpaper thing--I'm just asking about general appearance. This chick I'm dating was sort of playing with my facial hair tonight, but I've just been lazy for the past week or so--it's not abrasive now. But I also hate shaving. So I was wondering more about trimming it just past that stubblescratch stage. I suppose I'd have to ask her. Just wondering on a variety of opinions. And of course it depends on the girl.

But anyway, of all the facial hair I've had, only the goatee was found likable by woman. And even then, I used lots of conditioner to keep it soft and let the bottom grow long to get passed that sharp/scratchy phase. They still just liked playing with it.
All-in-all, I'd say woman like men clean shaved as far as the tactile aspect goes.
A lot like the look of beards and whatnot, but from what I've been told, its just doesn't feel good to them until its long enough, as you've said, to not be scratchy.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! the guys in that pic are awful looking. i wouldn't say that i necessarily have a "type" of guy that i go for, but after seeing that, i'd say i know which type i do not go for.
my BF used to have a full beard. i dug it. now he's clean-shaven and i dig that. in general, i just think my BF is hot, so his facial hair (or lack there of) isn't a factor.

Dear god. Every time I see that picture, it makes me laugh, but I'm laughing more out of sadness than anything else. the fact that these guys actually take themselves seriously is pretty pathetic. My favorite one is the guy in the back with the pink shirt on who looks like he probably has a tanning bed in every room of his house

As for facial hair preferences, it really doesn't matter to me as long as its not in that "30-hours-since-shaving, ACK-scratching-my-face-until-it-burns" stage of growth. A beard is cool, as long as there's no food or animals anything in it. Shaved is also nice.
