 Use of Alcohol?

I was told recently that instead of wiping down your syringe needle down with alcohol between jars you could also just flame and then dip the needle into a glass of alcohol.
What is YOUR opinion on this method?

You could do that,I just go to the pharmacy and buy a box of alcohol prep pads that ppl use to clean their skin before they inject themselves,they are easy,convenient and individually wrapped and a big box of them will last you a while for only a few dollars

I take a shotglass with polyfill in it, 2 peices fill it with alcohol
Flame the needle, move the polyfill to the side in the glas, dunk, and wrap the polyfill aroud the syringe to keep anything airborn out, take the 2nd peice of poly and wipe down what I'm injecting into and shoot it up with the polyfill still around the needle.
If you don't move the polyfill form the needle when dunking in alcohol, it will melt the polyfill to the needle, not a good thing

I get a red hot needle cool it down wih a 70% ISO soaked cotton pad and inject with the pad wrapped around the needle for protection, I flame sterilize again between every inoculation. Probably overkill but I see this as a crucial time for good sterile procedures.

If you flame sterilize, anything you do afterward will only make the needle 'dirtier'. Why not just flame and use? Forget the alcohol after flaming. There is no need to cool down the needle. Just use hot and let the first drop or two of solution cool the needle, so the rest can flow contaminant free.

Well in some situations a red hot needle can ruin filter material or even clog the tip of the needle if you bump it right. So when in danger of filter material melting burning etc one might use alcohol too cool. Also I've always thought that a red hot needle would cook to death any LC mycelium that would pass through it.

I don't like mixing "flame" and an uncovered glass of flammible alcohol.
I simply used the wipes and had no contams... but I tried VERY hard to be clean as possible in all other areas of the procedure.
