last I knew the latests thing was to add bloodmeal to the compost to add potency and vigor.
I recently read a quick but uninformative article on the addtiotion of vegi oil to the compost mix to increase yeild and potency. can anyone tell me about this vegi oil tek?
also i was wondering if anyone knows about an new casing recipes.
Are There Any new crazy new TEKs out there???
any and all formulas are appreciated. thanx ~TheNewGuy

5 gallons of shredded horse manure/1 gallon shredded wheat straw/1 cup of Urea/4 cups of gysum. Mixed well and lightly watered. I do it right in a Rubbermaid bin. Just leave the lid cracked well so it can breath. It's usually done composting in about 30 days give or take.

Still casing 50/50+ well ++++ or something but anyways: 4 quarts horticultural verm 4 quarts sunshine peat .5 quart moist coir 8 teaspoons hyddrate lime 8 tablespoons oyster shell flour 8 tablespoons oyster shells crushed 8 tablespoons gypsum 2oz Age Old Organics Liquid Kelp
Was the mix of my last batch. The best luck I had with bloodmeal was in making a tablespoon to a gallon of water in a tea like 24 hours in advance (like the way you do for plants) and use this water then to hydrate the casing material. That is how I am using the kelp now as well. Most the results I've been getting have not even been noticeably different so for these little tweaks unless your keep excellent records like weights from certain casings etc you will never really know.

Wronguy's Bag tek uses a small amount of vegetable oil to speed up growth and a few tablespoons of kelp meal, (which is safer than blood meal) for added nutrients. Search for "Wronguy Bags". He Skips the spawn step by sterilizing the poo and WBS at once and then inoculates with a massive dose of LC. You've probably seen this tek before but it's what came to mind when you asked the question. --

I'm not sure if you care or not, but here's a few whoppers that grew on this compost. I think the total weight of this flush was near 11 ounces dry. Give or take 1 maybe. I didn't put a lot of care into the total weighing process. It was my personal best by a long shot

It's Roger's "Redboy" strain. An isolate of it.

Thanks. I meant 12 ounces by the way. Who knows though. I didn't accurately measure the weight.

Red Boy? Those spores look purple? Whatever though, why let your mushies get so overgrown? I see pictures of people doing this all the time and I don't understand why. --

Ive never done it intentionally,I always try and catch them when the veil is tearing, actually my personal preference if before it even breaks because they look better that way But sometimes they just get away and I'm too lazy or too busy to get to them in time and when I get around to it they are a mess already

I was out of town for the weekend because of work. I don't feel like getting into all the Redboy spore color stuff right at the moment. There are strains of the Redboy that have a much brighter color of red, as I have some of them. But with a spore disaster like I had, it's kind of hard to tell the difference in colors between various mushrooms.

Well I think most people harvest before these, but I do have a job that requires travel and that means I simply can't baby sit my projects. I guess I can't gripe about a 188 gram mushroom and a flush of mushrooms all nearly over 100.
