What does everyone do for a living? If you go to school, what's your major? If you're out of school, what did you major in and what is your career now?

Small family owned business, which im trying to expand upon.
No school. Although i did take some basic business classes at a local community college.
Im fairly certain i will mold this into my permanent carreer. If not this, some form of self-employed business. Dont think i could go back to workin' for some asshole

I work at a perennial nursery. I stick cuttings, plant seeds, and grow the liners until they can be potted up into larger containers. I have a bachelor's degree in horticulture. The job is great but the pay sucks.

I'm in retail. It pays enough and it is dynamic and interesting work. I was on overnights for a year and a half as a stocker, and I'm a department manager at the moment - ordering, price changes, ensuring perpetual inventory has the correct information, keeping the department stocked. Our store is high-volume, in a company known for volume (), and there were days approaching Christmas were my department was hitting $50,000 sales.
I've been interested in returning to overnights as a support manager, which is a supervisory position for the stockers on one side of the store - pretty much the highest position one could get before becoming a salaried member of management. The person who got the position last time (it is a position that requires previous management experience, and at the time, I had none) is thinking about stepping down, from what my buddy says (who is the other support manager), so I'm hoping she does. Not really anyone else in the store that would be qualified as me for the position, as I now have management experience in the store, in addition to an overwhelming amount of overnight experience (I did it all, and how. ).
I'm also interested in musikk and am starting to focus more on that. I'd love to have a career in it, and am not sure if I will venture into it. I'm just not sure if it is a personal interest or enough to destroy the earth with. I'm likely going to enter the assistant manager program, so that, regardless of what I do in the future, I'll always be able to fall back on management and retail. If I decide to stick with it, I'd end up setting a path for store manager and would be pulling in a hundred thousand or two a year.

Ferris said: What are you surveying?
We basically do three types of surveys:
Preliminary survey: To gather data about a potential building site, so we can design something that fits the existing terrain and infrastructure.
On-site construction surveys: Mostly placing stakes where something is to be built (underground pipes, roads, etc.), as well as checking that everything is being built to plan, and resolving discrepancies.
As-built surveys: After construction, we survey everything to see where it was actually built, then do a drawing of it and submit that to the City.
It's nice to work outside a lot of the time, but it's also nice to be inside doing design work when it's -40 outside.
BTW neither of those pictures is of me.
