Should you not put a humidifier in a Martha?
    #6466591 - 01/16/07 04:30 PM (17 years, 3 months ago)

Like on the top or bottom shelf? I would think it would help it stay that much more humid if it didn't have to travel through the hoses.

If you shouldn't, why not?

The reason a lot of folks put them outside of the martha in order to pump fresh air into it.

A lot of people, like myself, just put the humidifier inside.

There's nothing wrong with putting a cool mist in your green house on the bottom shelf.  RR does this and pretty much preaches it .

I personally have mine piped in and running 24/7, but when this one blows out I'll just be putting a cool mist on the bottom shelf and cutting a few holes for air exchange.

The only thing about having it inside the greenhouse as opposed to outside is you're not getting FAE so you should still fan occasionally.  Should also probably run the humidifier on a timer.  15 on 30 off or something.

Peace.

step one cut holes in the martha, step two put your humidifier in the martha, step three fill holes with polyfill.  problems solved  :rastamon:

I have one of these:

I was just thinking it would be difficult to rig it with hoses and such.

Just put it on the bottom shelf and your good,I have never even attempted to pipe in fresh air,Just leave the zippers unzipped and if I remember I will fan every other day or so.No need for that god forsaken polyfill either, your fruiting chamber doesn't need to have filtered air and will never be sterile anyway

thats not an impeller type cool mist... unless they've suddenly changed....

but yes you can put an IMPELLER type cool mist into your GH or Martha.. cut holes for FAE into the martha...i don't bother with polyfil with my greenhouse.. a lot of people put them on timers inside the GH or Martha....

O I should probably mention mine is a greenhouse not a Martha, and yes the humidity does drop if you leave them all the way unzipped for two long, you will have to tinker with how long you run the humidifier and how long you leave the zippers unzipped, sometimes I just leave them half unzipped,I would imagine this will be different for different people so just keep playing with all the variables till you get it to maintain the humidity that you want
