New here ( incubator )

Hey everyone, Im new here, and to mushroom cultivation. Im hoping my first try will be a succses. I have learned tons of info from this site, and so far i have built an incubator. It only holds 6 half-pint jars, but i figure that is enough for now. Also i used a non-submersible fish tank heater, It sits in a glass container beneath the jars. Only problem i can see is that water may evaporate from the container and drop below the heaters water level, with the container completely full it barely reachers the water line. I guess i could add water when it needs it, but, i have a ruber o-ring that will seal the heater into the glass container, should i use it? If humidity gets to low I could just pour water into the bottom of the cooler. Thanks guys.

Looks like your off to a good start! Checking on the water everyonce and awhile wont hurt. The first time you figure out its low..figure the amount of time it has been since you filled it. So like if it took a week for the water to evaporate..check it every week or so. just my 2 cents. I'm not sure about the 'O' ring but otherwise it looks nice! good luck

looking good! i would suggest putting a thermometer in there too, to check the temp in the chamber. and remeber, in the jars it is a few degress warmer, so i have mine set at 82 f, to give a little room to variey. just make sure its not getting your jars wet all the time though. im not sure how it would work with a non-submersible fishtank heater, but it seems good enough! you really just want your jars to keep at a good colonization temp, in a dark, dry, area.
hope this helps
