What did you use for FAE with the warm mist? With constant filtered air exchange using a warm mist might work...I'm off to the drawing boards

dude,
love is the most important thing in life. If you hide who are truly are from your wife, you prevent her from being able to love who you truly are. In my opinion (and I am only a dumb snake so take it with a grain of salt) you should think about how you are creating a rift between you and your wife over something that is meant to bring people together. Keep tripping and I'm sure the mushrooms will show you that your wife is more important. May seem like a paradox, but dude...

if i were to grow anything noone should know of, sclerotia would be it anyway.

What is your wife going to say about you running a pressure cooker? That's not exactly the most inconspicuous activity... although I could see how you might possibly time your PC runs when she is out of the house... still, it sounds like a bad idea to me to be deceptive. But, you didn't really ask for my opinion there...
So, I would also suggest a monotub.

Why do you want it to be quiet? Is it because she doesn't like the noise? If she doesn't care to much about noise just turn on a stereo and have it on a low volume but a volume that will drown out the noise of a cool mist or air pump.
Another Idea if she doesn't want you growing magic mushrooms tell her they aren't magic mushrooms they are all legal.

Damn I walk away and come back to an awesome thread!
Here is a little background info. I had a set up a couple of years ago when I was living in my parents house. I had to be stealth about it because they are TOTALLY against it. the fish pump was loud enough for me to get paranoid and just fan/mist. That sucked ass. My hidden hobby took over my life. If I wasn't working I was taking care of my mushies. And if I wasn't doing either of those I was here learning.
Not, I own my own house, have two kids that I love more than anything, and next Saturday I will be married to a wonderful woman. I got her to eat mush one time about a year and a half ago. (yes we had a baby sitter and we got a hotel room to trip.) She loved them but she just feels bad because we're parents. She knew I grew before but hated it.
Now I'd like to grow again not to eat them but to make money. To provide. I'm sure some of you can understand where I'm coming from. I'm sure I'll eat more in my days but right now I need to focus on being a good father.
I saw that a few agreed on a mono tub. I have to say I haven't heard of but that sounds like what I did last time. Perlite, fan/mist...pain in the ass.
Damn. I don't know if I should do this if I'm going to be hiding it from my wife. Even though it's for the cause..

Considering the situation I wouldn't say that it's a good idea to grow under her nose. I would just try to convince her it would be safe using the monotub method and explain to her what would be going on/how it works. If telling her is not an option I would definitely say that a mono tub is the way to go. It can be easily hid and it requires the least amount of attention.

Tell ya what SuperDad: It just sounds like you're begging for something bad to happen. I think if you really wanna do what you're planing on doing it may be a good investment to find a cheap apartment for your work. That way everyone stays happy, and nobody loses everything they've worked so hard to obtain. I'm not sure what rent goes for near ATL, but it's prolly a hell of a lot safer to run your project outside of your home. Especially if that REALLY IS where you live.
