how long can a fully colonized jar sit before it is nolonger good
just chillin in the incubator no light

1 week?? 2 weeks??

obviously never opened

Well, as long as there are no contams... beware of the invitro you will get if they're exposed to even a bit of light.
I'd say birth them or case them to actually get mushrooms, no use just sitting around...

i want to wait to birth them
because ive got more jars coming up and want to do a huge casing (im talking like 17 jars) i've got a 50 gal rubber maid and want to try this.
but they wont be fully colonized for a week or so

LOL. I love the sound of determination!!

The cold of a refrigerator will put the mycelium in a near dormant state. If you kept the jars in their box; never introducing light, I'd say you could buy at least 3 weeks, maybe more.
