Morality of smoking weed with your pets.
    #6425950 - 01/04/07 08:02 PM (17 years, 2 months ago)

I give my cat a couple puffs of weed every now and then...he seems to enjoy it, he'll walk in my room most of the time he smells it....i don't hold him down and blow smoke in his face or anything like that but i'll blow smoke into his general direction and he'll linger in it for a few seconds...does anybody think this is wrong? does anybody else get baked with their pets?

i dont think thats so bad the cat can leave if hes not enjoying it...

when i was in my teens ive seen two seperate friends feed their dogs a lump of hash, one seemed to have a bad one and one seemed ok (size of lump i think)

couldnt condone that sorta thing tho, even if i was a little interested to see if the dogs would space out a little

cats love it though we all know about catnip and again, ive been at buddies houses when the cats are about and they always seem 'curious' (sly little fuckers!) about weed smoke and even the baggie laying about with the green in it.

One of my two cats loves to get high with me and the other one wants no part of it. It's totally his choice, I didn't blow smoke at them or anything.

The stoner cat will come sit next to me while I'm loading a bowl and meow until I blow some smoke out near him. (I do the same thing - just blow a cloud of smoke and let him decide how much he wants to inhale.)

He's so funny - he's got my bong hit timing down perfectly, so he'll start rolling around on the floor and meowing while I'm holding it in. Then I look over at him and he picks his head up to smell the smoke I blow out.

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you don't force the pet to inhale the smoke.

Well I don't actively take part in getting animals high, though I don't really stop people from doing it to their own pets. I probably should say something, because trapping an animal in a box is fucked up.

But then there's the Ferret... He's the pet to my other friend who grows weed, and he's very good at stealing weed and eating it. We took him on a road trip and he was all over the car, eating weed... little fuck.

I'm with belligerent on this one. One of my cats I used to have, but my mom gave up, used to love that shit. He'd come to my door when I smoked and when I let him in he'd come right up by me at the window and just chill. He loved the smell of the ganja. The cats I have now that we took in for a friend hate the smell of it, so they'll run away. I never forced them to inhale the smoke because obviously they hate it.

I guess some cats are just better stoner material than others, just like humans.

My animals have always hated it... my friends rottweiler loves the shit... had to stop getting her high because she started acting really fucking stupid. She started coming up and eating the weed we were breaking up and stuff... Now its like 5 years later and we get her high again because she has cancer.

Nothing wrong with that, I suppose.

Hey I didn't defend them, I called him a jackass later on if that makes anything better. I'm very passive, it kinda sucks.

i wouldn't like it if i was trapped in a box. i don't have a problem with animals seeming to get themselves high. that's totally different.

I put kittens in a box when I was 13... It was my friend's idea but I still helped... I feel really bad about that looking back.  They were some sickly little creatures though... one had shit all clumped up on its ass, matting its hair together... we felt it was humane at the time...

live and learn.

Well don't feel too bad, most of us did things when we were 13 that we regret.

My dad used to have a cat who loved weed, anytime one of my family members would light up a bowl he would come running sit on your lap waiting for you to blow smoke in his face. Yet My cat, didn't care for it so nobody would get her high. Ol' Pepper was a little stoner cat though.

Morally speaking, if they want to get high let them. There are a few animals in the wild that get high, like the lemur that fuck with these centipedes (or millipedes or...some shit) that give off this toxin (close to cyanide if I remember) that seems to act like an opiate to them.

The trick is to determine whether the animal likes it with as least influence as possible... tricky task, considering the natural reflexes against smoke... and the knowledge that some animals come out heavily in favor of THC...

Yeah, you shouldn't blow smoke at your pets, even to see if they like it.

It was easy for me to tell 'cause my stoner cat would jump on the windowsill every time I blew smoke out the window (roomie has a kid).  Finally he figured out that the good smoke was coming from the bong and now he runs over to me every time I get it out.

I swear my cat has even makes me load bowls for him when he misses my smoke times.  He'll come in and start meowing and rubbing against me until I load another bowl. :bong:

I couldn't stop my dog from getting high with me if I wanted to. Whenever I light up she comes running
