Peruvian seedlings, one month, 5 months, and a month-old with 3 cotyledons
one month old Terscheckii seedlings, and a tri-cotyledon
bridgesii seedlings, 5 months old, complared to the nice fatties i got from a trade with cpw1971. I dont know why bridges reached so much when my peruvians stayed squat, but they dont even look like the same species. thats the diference between floro and HPS
getting crowded.. notice the pachanoi has stopped etoliating and started fattening, that was from the addition of a SINGLE sunstick. you can tell how tall it was when i added it.
It was given to me for free from a lady who runs a hydro shop to try out. i will be bringing her this pic to use for promoting it. and will buy more.

Very cool variegated pedro! Nice monster beyond! Is that a bridgesii? Could we have a better pic of that one? How big is this lopho? It just seems a bit young for flowering!

the pedro isnt really varigated, just sometimes its blotchy, other times uniform, probably has to do with the light.
the monster is a bridgesii, and the loph is nearly 4, not its first flowering either.
its over a meter tall so it sorta sets the height of my lighting. also hard to get pics of. definately my favorite cacti that i own

i have no idea, its a cutting from a larger plant, which, in like was likely the same. who knows how many trunks down was the original root... and when the seed was planted.
but i will say that if this specimine was planted a 6 inch cutting, then it probably took 3-4 years to get this tall.
I expect it will grow faster in my care, it grew a foot this summer before i got it, it was kept in a shady place, seldom watered, and not fertilized. It grew 3 inches the past month under artifical light. I expect offsets this summer, just immagine how it will look

erowid has a list of active cacti.
mostly just trichocereus and lophophora(if your in Canada or Europe) are worth 'tripping off of' as you so eloquently say
-------------------- -------------------------------- " If the sky were to suddenly open up there would be no law. There would be no rule. There would only be you and your memories... the choices you've made, and the people you've touched. If this world were to end there would only be you and him and no-one else. " .............. "MAN! You know there aint no such thing as left over crack!"

Nice obesa!
How big is it?? Do you have more than one? I believe it takes two to tango with these doesn't it?
I love my little pair!

Damn! Alright!
I had to order mine and they were about six bucks a piece plus shipping. They're about 2-3 inches in dia.
But, I also got a coupla Astrophytum asterias from the same place so I guess it was less legwork...
